It's a pretty good statistical model of language. Esp. seeing that there is no output or return and suggesting the right print statmenets.

It does miss the difference between setting $rootdev{$dev} = 1 vs $rootdev{$basedev} to 1 I think

The reasoning in the second paragraph is a bit fuzzy, it's actually "When the script encounters a line starting with /" but no more fuzzy than any human could be.
