Lost soul stuck on heart destruction #622

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(please describe a single problem, providing as much detail as possible)
1. On Dungeon Heart destruction, the lost soul mode (on clicking possession)
appears to be stuck and cannot move from the starting position

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Instead of being able to scout around after death with the lost soul, it is
stuck. Moving the mouse right and left only tilts the view, and you cannot
raise or lower the view by a great deal either - you can't even look around the
room. (In addition, one out of the two times it happened today, the graphics
had also glitched, zooming in close when not possessed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
(you can see your KeeperFX version by viewing keeperfx.log in notepad)

Dungeon Keeper FX ver 0.4.6.1670 (r1850 patch) (Win XP)

Are you sure you have correctly applied patch r1850? If under properties it
shows you have version 0.4.6.1670 you have not and you have r1670 installed.

This bug has been fixed in r1754, see issue #587

*skulldesk*

Nope, you're quite right. I am just incompetant.

On checking, I apparently, for reasons unknown, extracted the last patches
I downloaded inexplicably to Bullfrog/Keeper/KeeperFX instead of
Bullfrog/KeeperFX where they might, actually, y'know, *work.* I even
thought it was a bit odd I didn't have to reset the display settings the
last couple of patches. I am teh stupids.

I'll go back and check later when I have time and make sure.

(This also might explain why the music wasn't working, too...!)

Consider me keeper-slapped to the last health flower...!

Okay, I have attempted to check, but I've found another issue instead.

On versions past r1788 (that is all versions I've tried, starting at r1795)
will not start, saying that "SDL2_mixer.dll cannot be found."

I presume this is a modifxation of something somewhere, but this file does not
appear to be in any of the patch files (or the base installation, which I
re-installed to check.)

I noticed the files on issue #598 which included the new file, and on a cursory
check, the game is now running. Will get myself killed later to confirm (though
I got killed on r1788 and it was fine).

Ok, good.

- The music should work fine in r1670 as well, perhaps you also put that in the
wrong folder.

- r1670 is the version to play right now. On recent nightlies the Computer
Player refuses to do anything on some maps.
