umm i have similar problem.. and definitively found its a crap software les see:

i think we need to split this in several isues but in fact its my first time testing openspades and found with this similar bug when i try to open. un playable

This is just an automatic update checker, it doesn't change anything in the software. Also, it's not enabled by default.

Also, any medium sized and up project requires you to compile (or install from your package manager) dependencies such as libraries, this is common sense (although OpenSpades could clean up a bit I guess).

Mods in OpenSpades are fragile, old packs quite likely will not work with newer game versions, IIRC this was fixed in packs made for newers versions but I'm not sure, anyway, it's not related to this thread.

hi @feikname I'm really surprised by your response full of tolerance .., i will added more information here..

i suspect som kind of bad linkig respect some libraries.. currently i not able to run alpine outside from my debian chroot due i used a very older debian...

quite xtrange the openal output.. seem separate issue? will be the break/exception at the end caused by the openal xtrange issue? still i dont know if are two separate issues so i'll recmmend do not try to package and follow normal ol-scholl install "configure make make&install" @sodomon2 and report feedback here
