I will fix this issue in the next version.
VSCode 1.88 (March 2024) added support for floating editors for custom editors (https://code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_88#_custom-editor-support-in-floating-windows), but that causes this extension to raise the error message.
Fixed in v1.0.185.
