Clicking Noise On Playback #163

Open acpingault opened 5 years ago

acpingault commented 5 years ago

CPod version: 1.27.1

Platform: Ubuntu 18.04.3

Install type (.deb, Snap, etc.): deb

Description: On playback of a podcast, the audio stream has a small buffer time over and over again, producing a clicking noise. This happens on streamed and downloaded podcasts.

Did the bug only appear after a CPod update? Version before, after: Reverting to v1.26 fixed the issue

Steps to reproduce: Install v1.27.1. Try playing podcast. Clicking noise starts once audio starts playing

I can also confirm the issue exists on my machine as well...

Version: 1.27.1 OS: Linux Mint 19.1 Hardware: Thinkpad T440p, i5 processor, 16GB RAM

Issue exists on 1.26.1 for me as well.

If it helps, seeking back in the playback seems to help with the clicking, although it does not make it completely go away. Could it have something to do with the level/size of audio buffers in playback (shooting in the dark here).

Arch 5.8.12 Ryzen 5 2600 64GB RAM Disabling the "waveform" visualization stopped the clicking for me. Restart CPod after you disable it.

Agree. This works!
