Hi.

I have this system :

And when install debumblebee I watch this message : Enabling debumble Service update-rc.d : using dependency based boot sequencing Fatal Error inserting nvidia ( /lib/modules/3.1.0-1-amd64/updates/dkms/nvidia.ko ) No such device

When I go to the directory I found the file. I prove this orders : update-rc-d nvidia defaults -> No such file insserv -d nvidia -> No such file

Try to enable debumblebee but I watch this message : Error not unable nvidia module??

Where is the problem?? Can help me??

Thanks

dkms status?

ghost commented 12 years ago

Thanks for your ask...

Your question is about version??

If execute command "dkms" no success anything.

If you ask about other thing, sorry, but I dont undestand

Thanks

z0rc commented 12 years ago

Just run dkms status in command line, doh. It should present after installation, as it's essential component. I don't know what went wrong. You are the only person with this kind of issue.

If help you, I install debian testing about netinstall, next dist-upgrade to sid ( unstable ) and next, download debumbleebe with git an run install.sh

Run modprobe nvidia.

z0rc commented 12 years ago

Well, at least reboot and try to optirun glxgears -info.

ghost commented 12 years ago

Thanks a lot, but

If I run modprobe nvidia I watch this message

Fatal: ERROR inserting nvidia ( /lib/modules/3.1.0-1-amd64/updates/dkms/nvidia.ko ) no such device

Next, when run optirun glxgears -info I watch this message:

/usr/bin/vglrun: 296: exec: glxgears not found
Error: Module nvidia is in use
Error: could not unload nvidia module, leaving card turned on

Next I install mesa-utils and watch this other message could not open display (null). Next open startxfce and the command line run optirun glxgears -info, ask my sudo password and watch :

GL_RENDER: GEFORCE GT 525M/PCI/SSE2
GL_VERSION: 4.20.0 NVIDIA 290.10
GL_EXTENSIONS: .....

And if run modprobe nvidia I watch the same firts message Fatal Error...

Where is the problem?? And when all correctly work if possible to use connection HDMI of Nvidia with external monitor???

Thanks a lok

I really lost motivation to resolve mess on your laptop and mess in your head. Most of your actions doesn't make any sense and you don't understand what you are doing. I'm not going to deal with this. Also optirun somehow worked, so there is no problems on debumblebee side.
