Can you try deleting the Windower/updates/
folder and restart Windower.exe
, see if downloads the resources then?
Hi, Sorry to keep you in suspense! (Real life work and wife kicking my ass atm). We tried it again to no joy, I've ensured his settings should cause no Port 1 issues (as internet and webpages work fine, updates should work also) other software updates.
It created the Res folder, but it was empty, ran as admin also, didn't work, I'm current;y just adding my copy to a Dropbox for him, it's hard to explain the issue for a pc on the other side of the world (I used remote access to assist him initially).
Is his Windows clock messed up by any chance? The way it works is it checks the file modification time locally versus the one on the server, if the difference is negative it downloads new files from the server. If his local clock is messed up it could explain the issues.
This was actually the first thing I checked, (as his internet was working 100% properly I assumed no Norton/Virus issues blocking anything) his windows clock had no errors. It's strange however I can't seem to see the issue, but accessing his PC remotely from Scotland is incredibly laggy and doesn't make it easy.
I'm not able to replicate it.
I can try to produce a debugging version of the Launcher to diagnose this issue, but I'll close this issue here, as this is the wrong bug tracker. Report it again on Windower's public tracker to get more exposure for this issue, is this is my private tracker and intended for the addons I publish.
Hi,
Noticed an issue, I helped a friend install and set up WIndower 4, however it failed to install resources, I fixed it by doing a manual file transfer however despite removing malware/virus pro/uac it would still not update this one area.
I had the same issue in another country, using a different os.
