Me and Revathi can work on this for now, will add more info regarding who wants to do which part, and I will also share the schematics here.

Yes I can do the parts on Solidworks (I don't know how to operate CAD, but I am thinking they are similar). Just let me know which ones.
Yeah, I was writing it quickly, and it might still be correct though... there are some really vague rules in english regarding I and me

We are not going to be using Solid Works, mainly because it is not worth the money. We will most likely use Blender
@revumol7 Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp1sH6Cm1ww in parts and whenever you have time, once you get started it becomes really easy to work with. Also, in terms of how to use GitHub as a file host dont worry about it, I will show everyone how that works on Tuesday. @Clementsd
Thanks Rafi! will be on it!

Please refer to this number when creating parts just to keep things organized. @revumol7 You can work on parts 1 - 4, and I will do 5 - 10 since the last two (masts) are likely to be easier to do.
For now just try and get 2 models (if possible) finished by Tuesday, I have not started yet so I am not yet sure how long it will actually take to make the models.
These files are relevant to the Ship as a whole, you will find other files regarding schematics in the schematics folder (link coming soon)
Ship - Cross Section - Schematic.pdf Ship - Mast Set - Schematics.pdf Ship - Overview - Schematic.pdf
Please CONVERT to METRIC to the 5th decimal place... imperial units are really problematic
I guess not the 5th but to the 3rd decimal place.
Also, dont worry about Blender for now. I will experiment with some programs and let you know which one will be the best to work with.
@revumol7 I started on Number 5 and got this much done so far.
Does not look like it will take too long to finish, only part that may be hard is the curve between two circles but I'm sure we can figure it out
@revumol7 I'm just gonna mark this as assigned to you so it is easy to see, it wont let me add more than one name and I already know its assigned to me.
@revumol7 Forget about Blender for now, it's more trouble than its worth because we want to 3D Print parts and Blender is not really designed for "solid" objects. Instead watch this and let me know what you think. It looks very complicated but if you think about it you will realize how simple it really is. Just let me know what you think.
@revumol7 @Susannnnnnn6 @Clementsd I finished Component 5.
Good job rafi! is it done on SCAD?

The scad looks pretty straight forward so far. I was wondering, what about Sketchup? is it not good?

@revumol7 Yeah it's done on SCAD, its quite easy to use once you get started. Maybe just watch some videos because they teach it quite easily. The reason we can't use SketchUP is because its not a "Solid" CAD modeling software, for examples SolidWorks is and thats why we can print solid works models. SCAD is also a solid modeler which is why it works for 3D Printing.
Just try and get started, don't worry about making any progress.
just take a look at https://github.com/z3t0/Innovator/blob/master/SHIP/CAD/SCAD/Component%205%20-%20Aft%20Deck.scad
Which is the model data for Component 5, its really short and easy to understand after you play around with SCAD for a while. Really what we want is a SOLID STL file at the end, which we can get by converting CAD to SCAD. Because MakerBot can really only print STLs. The problem with Sketchup is that even if you make a cube, its hollow inside, so then the 3D Printer has no idea how to work with that - where as Solid Works and SCAD make solid objects
Thanks! (Sorry for the block of text  )
Note: I am missing the side railing component from the schematics (will figure this out once I get a minute)
I just had a numbering mistake... all the parts are there
Added Schematics for Mast Set
Finished Component 7
Finished Component 6
Finished Component 8.
(Used Wireframe to show inside parts)
Completed both masts.
Finished all parts except 1 and 3.
Gah!! I give up on part one, you can do that :(. Sorry!
