Fixed. There was some issues with the hash created from the filename having /
in it,
which of course cant be created as a filename.
Now its all good. I've added an emoticon myself. Quit the app, restarted and the
emoticon is still there.
BTW: You can definitely edit the names of the emoticons! Just use the grid view
in
the preference panel. Its editable.

I'm sorry, I dont understand the question.
The preference window has several categories to choose from. Simply choose the
emoticons section, then go to the Custom tab, and click add, then choose the
file.
once the entry has been added in the list, just click on the name showing like
:myicon: and rename it to something else, like (hello) or :ddx: or whatever.
once you move away from the field it should be saved.

Oh, sorry i missunderstood something, anyways, what i mean is that in msn
emoticons have a Name
and an Equivalent. Name only specifies a name, and the equivalente is the text
that is then replaced
by the emoticon.
Check the config file and you0ll find you can change some values in which you
can find the Name
and The Equivalent, from preferences dialog you can only change the Equivalents.
Now, usually when you use WLM and you add a custom emoticon you get a dialog
asking for the
Name and Shortcut for the emoticon, now, if i add emoticons from galaxium's
cache the name and
equivalents are very long and mean nothing special. I'm guessing that if we
leave those like that
when someone from WLM wants to add a custom emoticon we sent he's gonna get a
really long and
meaningless name that he would have to change.
