Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

and GSTREAMER_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

This is not problem in the script. You just need to install some development
packages. Make sure you have all of those:

libgstreamer0.10-0
libgstreamer0.10-dev
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev
