Make - Compilation Problem - Galaxium - from SVN #408

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download the snv form source
2. doing the "sh autogen.sh --prefix=/usr"
3. and "Make"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

First, I had to install some libraries I saw it was demanding me the
autogen shell script:

*gtk-sharp2
*libnotify0.4-cil→
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14407647/libnotify0.4-cil_0.4.0%7Er2998-1_all.deb

*libgstreamer-dev
*libhal-dev
*libwebkit1.0-cil
*libwebkit1.0-1

-After "make"
*libgcong2.0-cil

In the step later on of typing "make", it is complilating, however; It this
problem:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
warning CS2002: Source filenames `AssemblyInfo.cs' and `./AssemblyInfo.cs'
both refer to the same file:
/home/barx/galaxium/src/Protocols/Galaxium.Protocol.Msn.Gtk/AssemblyInfo.cs
./MsnChatWidget.cs(290,40): error CS0200: Property or indexer
`Gtk.Image.Animation' cannot be assigned to (it is read only)
Compilation failed: 1 error(s), 1 warnings
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Galaxium Messenger from here:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Non-members may check out a read-only working copy anonymously over HTTP.
svn checkout http://galaxium.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ galaxium-read-only
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course I had to install subversion to download it.

I'm using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04

Please provide any additional information below.

I added to my sources the repository for "Hardy", seems to be no packages
anymore.

I was using Karmic (in karmic repositories work), the latest version, but
since there's no proprietary drivers for my old Ati Radeon x1250 video card
(my computer it's a laptop, so I can't change the hardware that easy xD).

Eventhough the radeonhd open-driver helps, Autodesk Maya does not run so
nicely in Karmic than in Hardy, so I removed Karmic partition and I came
back to Hardy.

Jaunty is a mess and the begining of non support propietary Ati driver for
the current card I'm using,in adittion; intrepid is slower than the past
mentioned versions.

Why I don't use an rpm-based linux-distribution instead a debian-based one?
. . . Beacuse, Maya doesn't Crashes as an rpm-based "distro" and less than
Windows. Funny, but true.

In Mac Pro's Maya is very unstable, so to keep working nicely I prefer use
Linux and Ubuntu.

Of course I would like to use the repositories, but I would like to know
how it works with the latest =) of the latest, and if I can have $$money$$
for the next laptop or workstation and the best upgrades for drivers and
sofware, I would like to know better the ultimate upgrades for galaxium
messenger.

Sorry to not being short. Kopete is nice, but it does not have
emoticons, and I don't use all instant messenger protocols.

Transfers are slow as hell and I prefer use gnome. Pidgin does not have
webkit to has adium chat-styles in AMD64 versions and it is a huge process
to get it in intel versions. Amsn has the opportunity to have big display
pictures, but if galaxium could have this adds would be the best, maybe in
the near future I think you can think about it.

Another thing would be that it could have something related to Ubuntu One.
Every distribution it help to have it, it's useful. OHH and if you join it
with google services as the future google tv, it would be awsome.

haha, sorry. I wanted to tell you all this stuff.

Sorry I resolved that problem and I elaborated a guide. Is the attached txt. To
install it in Ubuntu.

Now here the problem is that not always appear me the choice to start a talk. I
want
to remove svn, and install source version. How do I remove the svn installed
version
if it does not appear as an installed application in the package manager?
