The rationale for canonicalizing youtube links should be given in the edit notes. People seeing those are generally not interested in examining this software but just see a particular change for some artist they follow, and may wonder why someone replaced a nice-looking url with something else.
(I write this after noticing https://musicbrainz.org/edit/114385896 . I suppose a similar remark could be made about other kinds of edits as well, but I haven't checked for that.)

Just changing the edit note to link to https://github.com/zabe40/musicbrainz-userscripts#musicbrainz-youtube-link-canonicalizer instead of just https://github.com/zabe40 would probably be enough.
