Request: Expose gateway current bandwidth as sensor #55

Oh boy, you really opened up a can of worms, starting an Omada hacs contrib :) (and, thank you @zachcheatham for doing it!)

I came here looking for a way to expose my router's bandwidth usage in HA. I can probably do this with SNMP, if I can get it set up properly. (Last time I attempted, I failed.)

My request is to expose some gateway information, such as current bandwidth usage, in HA so we can easily see if our network link is in use, or not.

Note: For me, if I could see current network usage for clients, that would also suffice, as my main concern is checking if my NAS is saturating my network link.

Unfortunately, I do not have any Omada switches or routers to test the integration against. However, bandwidth sensors for APs and clients are currently in development.

I have a switch - you may push me a test version

I have the ER605v2 router and it shows up like this.... As just a single port is used in this router to access the WAN I'm assuming these figures shown below will be "internet" usage. They seem to update every 30 seconds but I have not seen any RX or TX activity yet which does not seem correct... image

I do not have a switch or router to test this. Does the Omada portal show activity of the device? These data points might only be available on APs.

I have a TL-SG2428P v4.0 Clients work well. HomeAssistant: image Omada: image

Switches and EAPs have 0 values too. image EAP: image

And yes: that data is not visible in the devices overview or details/statistics of that device.

The Omada controller does show these stats for the ER605 router... What assistance can I provide to help get better support for routers and switches?

I would love to see the RX and TX Activity too. i've got an ER7212PC Hardware Revision v1.0. Both values stay at 0.0 MB/s all the time.

If you tell me which informations you need and how to get them via curl from the API, I could provide you the json-returns.

If you can use your browser to grab request/responses containing the information from the Omada controller web dashboard, I can include the appropriate calls for gateways in a beta version of the addon.
