This task is a good guinea pig for #29: now that we have date-namespaced post URLs, it feels natural for /2014/10/ to be a valid URL corresponding to the archives for that month: implement that as a generic display view and then decide whether it's great enough to rewrite the views currently decorated with @paginated_view that way. Also a good excuse to put a sidebar in the site design that could contain things like the monthly archive list, a karma bubble for the logged in user and link to their full profile, and a tag cloud (#32)
