[wish] personal/custom list of synonyms #1045

I don´t know if this is even possible in the given Trilium software architecture – this is why I marked it 'wish' :-) – but as currently the search function is under re-development, I thought this might be a good time to raise this very particular one.

there is one feature that I once found in Wordpress and also in some very rare, exquisite mediamanager: the option/power to define one´s own list of synonyms!

this brings some/multiple very strong leverages to a system, once one looks at this rather 'simple move' (conceptually):

it is one of those missing features I am most baffled by in other complex info-/knowledge-/taxonomy-tools, given the leverage(s) it gives. – it would be supercool to have this in the wizardy Trilium...! (and I still know it´s a 'wish' at most)

thx for considering! oliver

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Where exactly would those synonyms be used?

sorry if it is opaque...

maybe the problem is about explaining the 'mechanism': it worked by filling a document / list with word duplets:

" bird = vogel [translation] bird = aviary [synonym] bird = flying creature [categorial / associative relation] ... [etc] " then the system / app would process these as (implicit) 'dictionary' in the background for the whole database; meaning for example when I search "flying creature" (or "avian" or...) it would also show all occassions of "bird" automatically.

– hope that addition is making it more comprehensible?! :-) otherwise let me know if anything else (motivation etc.) is not understandable.
