Since the dawn of android and the app drawer was always under the main screen of the launcher and is usually dragged up to be opened.
The Proposal
Allow users to select the option to show the app drawer on the side of the feed, in emulation to Windows Phone UI, while maintaining the dock and search (if chosen to be shown) with the same look and behaviour.
The Rationale
Dealing with multiple areas having the same scroll direction (navigating the feed vertically, opening and closing the app drawer with vertical scroll) is something that always confused me about when I use apps with such behaviour, now that I'm using Posidon which allows me to keep up with my RSS subscriptions right from my main screen, I'm getting similar confusion*. I remember using few launchers that imitated Windows Phone UI with the left side having tiles area that is vertically scrollable, and the app drawer being on the right, and I definitely enjoyed those launchers at some point.
* to be fair, this is a personal matter and not at all a bug or a bad design by Posidon.
