What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Browse to next or previous image

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Image load performance is slow, far from v. 2.2 speed

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.3 OS X 10.9

Same here, the JPEG loading and decoding seems to feel so much slower.

OS X 10.8.5
2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
