One idea would be to use the database time.

Hey @danpersa, this issue dates back to May 2016. Can we either close it or add another label like "Help Wanted"?

The most reasonable approach is to use the DB time. We don't have any issues with the current implementation and is only on the nice to have list.

@NorthFury Hi, but this project is publicly available so we also have to consider what's good for the OSS community at large.
