when a display mode is requested and no exact match should be found, nearest match should be used #20

the nearest match could be used with the display centered on the screen,
this should be relatively easy to implement - and will fix problems of not
being able to go into fullscreen mode on alt-tab in win32 (eg. see flower
example)
