Hello, I have 16:10 1440x900 widescreen monitor and I'm tired of black space in the edges of screen, are there any way to fix it?

Will that be possible at all? I guess that the aspect ration is hard coded at that time 4:3 was the default aspect ratio.

Looks like it is. Another guy has created a patch which allows that among other things:

game supports widescreen resolutions (16:9, 16:10, etc)
