I don't expect any foreseeable support. Probably only critical bugs will be fixed.
However I would highly appreciate implementation with tests and jsonc-parser under the hood. And even better implementing this behind an option in builtin JSON extension! https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/tree/main/extensions/json-language-features
