Talk Title

How converting a product catalog to a graph reduced complexity by two orders of magnitude.

Session Overview

In this presentation we review a project to convert Schneider's product catalog of 1 million SKUs to an RDF Knowledge Graph. The cognitive overload (that is the amount of pre-existing knowledge an analyst needed to become competent using the data) dropped by almost 2 orders of magnitude. We'll discuss what that means, and how it was massively helpful in three follow on projects, and why one follow on project failed, and finally how the whole project got cancelled.
