This might possibly include ditching the homegrown serialization format and using the emcee 3 backend functionality instead.

TODO:

[x] fix roundtrip
[x] update deprecated use of properties to equivalent functions (e.g., sampler.flatchain to sampler.get_chain(flat=True)).
[x] Update documentation
