We're curious to know who and how you are using OSMApp 🚀

Drop the info with your story or link to companies, products, websites or repositories where you using it. We'd love to hear your experiences and use cases.

It helps us to improve the app in the future!

Thank you! 🙌

Ok, so I’ll just start here:

Other Apps

OsmAPP is by far my most-used map application! There are only three scenarios when I use another app or website:

  1. Navigation: When I’m outdoors and need turn-by-turn navigation, I fall back to OrganicMaps for turn-by-turn navigation.
  2. Transit: For real-time information or public transport navigation, I use the local railway app or Apple Maps.

OsmAPP Use Cases

I use OsmAPP extensively across all my devices.

On my Phone

When I’m outdoors, OsmAPP is my go-to app, and I use it mainly to:

For quick edits, I use the integrated editor in OsmAPP. For larger edits, I switch to a dedicated phone mapping app like Go Map.

On my Computer

My use is slightly different on desktop, where I often:

OsmAPP is essential for trip planning. Just last week, I used it to plan big parts of a trip, here the high quality wikimedia commons images are very nice.

For OpenStreetMap Contributions

As an OpenStreetMap enthusiast, I also use OsmAPP to inspect OpenStreetMap features. The option to open features on openstreetmap.org is invaluable for checking history and deeper details.

Climbing Features

I haven’t used the climbing features. This isn’t due to any limitations in OpenClimbing—I'm simply not a climber.

Here's how I use OsmAPP

Sharing POIs/location to other people (usually, those who aren''t OSM contributors - yet :) )

Quick Editing

Visualizing interesting POIs using overpass queries

Nothing to install. Registration not required.

I haven't tried the climbing features yet, I prefer OsmAnd for that, but I'm going on some hikes in a few days, and I'll see how it works in the field -- though, I'm not really keen on using online apps for that thing.
