Zachary,
Looks good, this exercise is intended in part to give you an introduction to the general rhythm of this course. The course is entirely project-based with an app being assigned each week and then due the following week. Each project builds on the last to help each engineer learn the practical elements of Android development and best practices as quickly as possible. We also do a code review for each submitted project once the program begins.
The next step is to continue working on extensions to your todo app and to schedule a short 15 minute phone conversation with us. Navigate to today's date and onward from there and choose an available 15-minute slot in the mornings or evenings. Let us know if none of those times work.
With regards to extensions to implement, we are looking for developers with an interest in user experience and product development so be sure to focus on additional functional enhancements and/or improving the user interface of the app.
Once you select a slot, can you make sure to include the best number to reach you at to the invite?
Prior to our chat, can you take some time to research the most common Android Activity lifecycle methods as well as the ArrayAdapter
pattern used when working with lists? We will be discussing these topics with you conceptually in the phone call. We encourage you to search our guides as well as any other sources you'd like.
Look forward to chatting soon!
I'll be extending this app before 7/8.
Great, was good chatting with you and will keep an eye out for your extensions.

I worked on the following:
With these changes, I feel like I got deeper into the Android ecosystem and am excited and hopeful to continue to learn more through your program. I definitely recognize that there is a lot to learn and that a structured program like CodePath would be great for me.
As stated on our phone call, I am eager to learn and do more. I will be an asset to the program as I will be committed to working hard while also helping my teammates and the cohort at large. I'm incredibly effective in team settings and I will do all I can to make my time successful here.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Great to see you were able to augment your app with a few extension tasks now. As mentioned earlier, the extension tasks available on each project are often the most valuable learnings since they dive deeper into common real-world Android use cases.
We'll be in touch with you again soon via email. Let me know if you have any questions about the project or anything in the meantime.
Hello Zachary,
Thanks for submitting your pre-work but your current submission is incomplete. Your app does not complete all the required stories outlined as part of the prework.
Please review the prework submission checklist to complete the missing features. Hint: the required option "User can persist todo items and retrieve them properly on app restart" doesn't work in your application. Please re-submit your project on your application dashboard and reply back on this issue once completed.
I've completed the basic requirements up to editing. This is ready for review. CC: @codepathreview and @codepath
Hopeful, that I can complete some of the extra items in the next day or so.
I don't have any questions at this time. I can be available to talk whenever is convenient for you.
Thanks!
