Formatting a disk always stops after a few seconds #328

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect a 120 GB HD
2. Choose format sda
3. Wonder, that the process always stops after 3-15 seconds

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output? What could it be? Certainly a usable mounted harddrive with 
ext3 filesystem.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SNAKE OS V1.3.2 (20101130), on Mac OSX 10.6.8

Please provide any additional information below.
Nothing special, it did it several times, even after rebooting the nas.

Anything interesting in System->Log after you tried to format?

If not try to ssh into the device then run:

/usr/share/snake/formatdisk sda

and post what you get back.

Thanks for the idea, but after several (20-25) attempts it suddenly did the 
job, however it needed about 40 minutes. So the format issue is gone, I have 
new problems now, but try to find a solution in the FAQ.
