Have to sign in every time I open zed (linux) #14305

Check for existing issues

Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it

I have to login and authenticate with github every time I close zed

I installed zed using curl https://zed.dev/install.sh | sh

Environment

OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64 Kernel: 6.6.34-1-MANJARO DE: GNOME 46.2 WM: Mutter CPU: 12th Gen Intel i7-12650H (16) @ 4.600GHz GPU: Intel Alder Lake-P GT1 [UHD Graphics] GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Mobile

Here on Ubuntu 24.04LTS, it shows "sign in", even though the git CLI is totally happy in the folder containing the file.

It's like it assumes you must login, and wants to be in charge of that, even though this can easily not be the case.

The repo is on GitLab, if it helps. Maybe it assumes Microsoft runs the only Git server in the world ?

I am still having this issue. I am running arch linux with kde plasma. I have an amd 7800x3d and an Nvidia 4070 super. I installed from the arch package manager and whenever I launch zeditor I have to sign in through the browser again.

I am using Arch Linux on AMD Radeon with KDE and i3 window management. I had the same issue before, installing gnome-keyring solved my issue. From what I saw Zed read the login info from it.

This is happening for me in WSL 2 (Ubuntu). It's quite annoying having to sign in every time I open it. I'm using version 0.150.4
