Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it

After muting myself in a public channel, other speakers turn into chipmunks. 🪄 🐿️

Steps to reproduce:

Join a public channel (in my case it was #zed) with at least two people in the channel already talking
Mute self
Other speakers talk like chipmunks.

Possible related factors:

Using Airpods over bluetooth

Environment

Zed: v0.126.2 (Zed) OS: macOS 14.3.1 Memory: 128 GiB Architecture: aarch64
