Cannot start zen-browser #1032

What happened?

  1. Click on any links / flatpak run io.github.zen_browser.zen / xdg-open https://github.com image
  2. Double click on Default Profile or Start Zen Browser image
  3. Restart Zen Browser goes back to step 2
  4. Click Exit to finally stop

This makes the browser absolutely unusable.

Does starting with --safe-mode work? Is anything logged to the terminal if you run it from there?

Tried --safe-mode already, and no, absolutely no logs

I think I tried like most reasonable arguments/flags already.

Additional context, I have a setup with like 2 distinct profile inside zen. (I believe the profile manager in zen is different from this mozilla-ish one?) However, Zen has been totally working fine until it suddenly started showing this User Profile Chooser thingy.

Also, the AppImage one works fine (because obviously it's a totally different environment than the one in Flatpak).

I believe your profile got corrupted. Is it possible for you to create a new profile in the profile manager and see if that works out for you?

remove the folder completly and try again. If you just copied firefox's profile into zen, it doesnt work like that... they are just partially compatible

Yeah I think the problem persists

I deleted that from the choose user profile window
