What happened?
I've got a Mozilla account to sync my settings and more importantly, extensions. Today I decided to try out Zen for the first time. (by the way, fantastic job, this browser is fantastic!) That's when I figured out that the works-paces don't actually hide tabs from other work-spaces.
Spoiler alert, it's extensions like simple tab groups that break this functionality. Those extensions work by hiding tabs that aren't in the group. However those groups are different from work-spaces, so they don't hide anything there. Disabling does restore the functionality of the work-spaces, however since disabling an extension is synced that means that it disables this also on non-Zen Firefox based browsers.
that wouldn't be an issue if you only used Zen, but if you've got two different browsers, this becomes frustrating quite fast. I've tested this problem on Windows, but it wouldn't be surprised if this issue existed on all platforms.
Reproducible?
[X] I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
