It says “Default Workspaces” or the name of the currently open Workspaces. By default the Workspaces logo does not appear when the sidebar is hidden unless you have selected the icon. It looks like a blank space. This is not a bug. Please explain if the problem you are experiencing is real. If not, close the issue.

I do not use workspaces (deactivated), maybe that's why

when I activate workspaces effectively a D is put in that blank space, but even so, restarting and deactivating again, the space is maintained, just like the image I posted

image same issue here. Gap at the top of the tab list (workspaces disabled)

antikovt commented 3 weeks ago

Yep, when workspaces are disabled the gap is still there and looks bad.

Also I don't see why it shouldn't be possible to move the workspaces button around, to either the bottom of the tabbar or even to the toolbar.

Yep, having the same issue here. Couple of update ago (I think at the start of November or end of October) this wasn't an issue for me. When ever the reworked "Show New Tab Button on Tab List" appeared, after that update this issue appeared for me. Turning this feature off to hide the new tab button but doesn't help with the gap. This seems to be a specific issue with the "Workspaces" functionality. The "New Tab" icon in the screenshot is placed by me while customizing the tool bar to showcase the gap that was added. Before the update I had the same configuration but without the gap.
