zencq / NomNom

NomNom is the most complete savegame editor for NMS but also shows additional information around the data you're about to change. You can also easily look up each item individually to examine its attributes, independently of a savegame, or get other useful information that are not related to a specific savegame (but enhanced if one is loaded).

As No Man's sky recently was released to Macs, it would be great to have this tool working on MacOS too

yagiziskirik commented 1 year ago

That would be an awesome upgrade!

This already in the works (but will take a while) and also a Linux/SteamDeck and Web (via GitHub Pages) version in the same go :)

After checking out the Readme file, I can provide the location of the save game on Mac is in /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/HelloGames/NMS/st_<Steam_ID>/save*.hg. I couldn't find anything on the repo to contribute on Mac, but if you need any help, I will try my best to help you 😄

@yagiziskirik Thanks for the info! Source code will be added with that multi-platform version. Feel free to contribute then :D If I need something Mac related till then I may ping you here again if that's okay

In the meantime, you can install the free version of vmware fusion to get a windows VM running and install the save editor in that. then edit the files in a very roundabout way, but it works for now.
