@zerodistraction,
Thanks for bringing this issue up. I don't have too much time this week but I will hopefully have a chance to look into this over the weekend. At least it is working on chrome in the meantime. At first glance this looks like an issue between the Apps Framework and Safari. That is a very quick, slightly correlative guess (given the error message I'm seeing doesn't reference a file in my app).
That being said, my app could be interacting with the framework in an unsupported fashion or it could even be Safari. Hopefully I can dig deeper this weekend. I appreciate the feedback and your time in making the video. I only use Safari to test before bumping versions so I'm glad you reached out. Please don't hesitate to report any other bugs in the future.
Cheers
Ember issue w/ Safari fixed with latest update to ZAF
Please forgive the crappy video quality in this screencast. I exported it as 1080p from Quicktime, but somehow it got messed up. It should be clear enough to see it doesn’t work for me.

I tested Chrome in an incognito window. In Chrome, I actually get a green on-screen help dialog at the top right, which tells me the redaction was successful and I must refresh the page.
Tested with the latest stable version of Chrome.
What's broken:
In Safari, I don’t get this message and it flat out doesn’t work. Redacting text or attachments doesn't do anything at all, despite a full page refresh.
Tested on Safari 7.0.3 on OS X 10.9.2.
