Establishing Connection hangs and does nothing... #127

Phone is ofcourse an Android...

-OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
-on PC VNC version 3.3 *old i know but has yet to show me any issues*. i
can connect to anything and anyone else. but can't get the phone to
connect to me.

-FireWall status is OFF, all traffic is allowed at the moment so there
shouldn't be ANY port issues and i don't have any 3rd party FireWalls. i
have AVG Anti Virus and it's the free version with no FireWall.

-I have set my VNC to full open, no passwords required. i've tried ports
5900 and 5920 with no success. VNC server on my laptop is showing open for
connection and everything. i can connect with any other computer i've
tried just fine, but it wont connect to the phone. it just hangs on
establishing connection.

-it MAY be my older version, but i doubt it from the none stop success
i've had with it for such a long time.

UPDATE - enterprise version 4.5.1 has the same outcome. connection establishing
fails after roughly 2-3 minutes of wait time.

still no password, no firewall no nothing to block connection. i will continue
to
keep it this way until i get it connected and then configure around it.

Last UPDATE - i've gone as far as making my IP static through my rouuter on top
of
everything else. i just cannot seem to establish a connection at all to my
computer.

I'm still not clear exactly which VNC server you are using (I'm afraid PC VNC
doesn't
mean anything to me). Do you have a link?

maybe I can check it and see if there is a particular problem with that server

I have both VNC Enterprise version 4.5.1 and TightVNC listed on this site. I'm
able to get it to connect on
my private network but I still can't get it to connect through the 3G. IV
forwarded my IP as a static IP to
my router and even turned off my router's security settings. It says
establishing connection for a few
good minutes before cutting off. I've even set the lowest possible security
settings for the server
settings and still can't manage to get it working.

1. Are you forwarding the VNC port (5900) from the router to your PC's static
IP address?

2. Are you using the router's WAN IP address for the Address field in
android-vnc-viewer?

just found out my ISP kept reseting my forwarded port on me each time i put the
settings in. so i called them up and had them STOP doing that and leave that
specific port alone.

it's now connecting just fine.
