Enhancement suggestion: add more special keys #55

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. VNC to a computer with an Excel spreadsheet
2. Try to add a + to an equation
3. Instead it will pull down the Format menu whose hot key is Ctrl+O.

Please add some of the symbols that you have to use with the Alt key on the G1.
 If the
symbol is above a letter, the host may take it as a hot key instead of the
symbol. These
symbols could be added to Send Keys so the could be used without being
misinterpreted.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android VNC to a WinXP host running RealVNC and Office 2003

I got error messages when I tried to post this, so didn't think it did post.
But I
was able to get + and - by using Alt+O and Alt+I twice.

The solution Rob gave works for me when I VNC into my home desktop, however it
doesnt
work when I use the VNC to get my X-Windows desktop after I boot debian. The +
works,
but the - does not. When I hit alt+i once, nothing happens, the second time it
erases
the line that is there. Also the alt+. does not do anything either so I cant
get a /
either.

There seems to be a problem, depending on the VNC server, in interpreting the
symbols
sent with Alt. I will see if there is a way I can send these that is more
robust
with respect to server-side key mappings.
