alpha keys are not sent on htc magic #72

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. place mouse pointer to some text field
2. invoke virtual keyboard
3. print some alpha chars (hello world)

htc magic, android 1.5, app v0.2.2

Alpha chars do not appear after typed, however space, dot, comma, numeric
chars, arithmetic operators are shown and are send to the server.

I tried different keyboards but native 'android keyboard' also seems not to
work.

Latest dev version has a menu item for entering text to send to server. It
should
be coming to Market in a few days.

I don't have a magic-- how does one invoke the on-screen keyboard when
connected
through the server?

I'm calling this fixed with the latest version, now in the Market. The Send
Text
menu command lets you send text entered with the on-screen keyboard. It also
lets
you select from a history of text items sent in that session.

Between the Send Text command and the Send Keys command, you should be able to
do
anything with a keyboardless phone that you can with a G1.
