Proposed fix for mobile client #22

Rather than run too amuck in the code and dependencies for a one-line function, we can substitute it in.

I believe this fixes #21 and I have tested it in theory using echo commands to make sure the output matches what was expected before, but I have not tested it in place in the app.

Merged, pushed an spk to the market.
