Can't switch tabs when using Adobe Reader within Firefox

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Follow a link to a PDF when Adobe Reader is the default app
2. Try to access other tabs

What is the expected output?
Typing tab key ID will switch to that tab

What do you see instead?
Even using Ctrl+"ID" or "blur active element" commands do not allow me to
switch.
