Numbers on check boxes obscured in Google documents

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. go to Google Doc site (http://docs.google.com)

What is the expected output?
Check boxes in left-hand column of main window -- I want to see numbers
over them like you see in gmail (http://mail.google.com/mail/)

What do you see instead?
numbers are obscured -- only see part of numbers

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
