ID type, some conflicts #21

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Modifier for opening links in new tab shouldn't be set as meta as
default. It conflicts with the linux shortcuts for changing between tabs in
Firefox http://support.mozilla.com/da/kb/Keyboard+shortcuts .

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Super could be used, but conflicts if you are using Compiz window manager.
2. Alt - shift could work.
3. Ctrl, Alt, and Ctrl -Alt are too few options, add some more e.g.
alt-shift, ctrl-shift, super etc.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mouseless Browsing 0.5, Ubuntu linux 8.04

I realized you solved the problem elegant with the special ids "0" +
<tabnumber> to
change between tabs. Good work

To use the Ctrl key has historical reasons. To be honest, when I startet
developing
MLB I didn't know that FF has this shortcut.
Therefor I introducted the special ids.
I will think about changing the default behavior.

The shift couldn't be used as a modifier as the shift key modifies the keycodes
of
the numpad so that these keys can no longer be distinguished to e.g. the cursor
keys.

I will let this issue open.

In next version 0.5.2.1 a setup dialoge will make the problem visible.
