Don't have an exe file #26

I downloaded the file off of here and can't find a exe file to run it

zephyrj commented 7 months ago

Hi, is there no .exe after extracting the downloaded file?

One should appear if you extract the .7z file with https://7-zip.org/ - if it doesn't then your anti-virus software could be immediately quarantine'ing it

Dexifyishim commented 7 months ago

What folder should the exe file pop up in?

zephyrj commented 7 months ago

It should appear in whatever folder the .7z file is in when you extract it

Dexifyishim commented 7 months ago

I don't know how to use .7z

zephyrj commented 7 months ago

Once you have installed 7-zip on your system then all you should need to do is right-click the .7z file and you should see a 7-Zip option in the menu that pops up - if you highlight this you will see a sub-menu appear and you just need to click "Extract Here"

It doesn't give me an exe file when I do that. Just the same files from the rar file

zephyrj commented 7 months ago

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean - there isn't a rar file present in any of the downloads

You'll need 7-zip which you can get here -> https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z2401-x64.exe Use the downloaded file to install 7 zip (just double click it and it will guide you through a setup)

Download this file for engine-crane -> https://github.com/zephyrj/engine-crane/releases/download/v0.3.1-alpha/engine-crane-windows-031-alpha.7z When it has downloaded move it somewhere you want to use it Right click the file and you should see this:

extract-example

Click extract here and you should then have an engine-crane.exe file
