Is your enhancement proposal related to a problem? Please describe.

We currently have no process defined for when we do point releases (e.g. 3.0.x, not 3.y).

Process WG:

@carlescufi : to my knowledge, we do point releases based on the release manager proactively doing one, or someone asking for one
@jhedberg : I remember the same
@MaureenHelm : if there's a vulnerability fix, we do one
@dleach02 : @kestewart was asking recently if we should figure out some more predictability there
@mbolivar-nordic : AI to submit a note to the documentation reflecting the above

@nashif: there needs to be a cadence which is aligned with vulnerability disclosure embargo periods
@nashif: next week, PR to security and release docs
@mbolivar-nordic : will close my PR and let you take over then

No, nothing dedicated. You could start a thread on general or tsc if you want.

For process WG, yes.

@nashif - This needs to move to the Release WG. But this is blocked on creating a label for the release WG.
