textroom doesn't launch #28

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install textroom package
2. Go to Applications > Office > Textroom
3. Click on icon

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The application should launch. Instead, nothing seems to happen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Ubuntu 9.04 (Wubi; I'm still transitioning).

Please provide any additional information below.

I'm an Ubuntu newbie, so I don't know if there are any log files I can look
at. I tried watching System Monitor when I attempted to launch the
application, but nothing seems to happen (i.e., no new processes show up).

Do you have qt4, libsdl and libsdl-mixer packages installed?

I believe so. At least, when I do run dpkg --get-selections the following show
up as
installed:

libqt4-core
libqt4-dbus
libqt4-designer
libqt4-gui
libqt4-network
libqt4-opengl
libqt4-qt3support
libqt4-script
libqt4-sql
libqt4-sql-mysql
libqt4-svg
libqt4-test
libqt4-xml
qt4-qtconfig
libsdl-mixer1.2
libsdl1.2debian
libsdl1.2debian-alsa

I hope I will roll a better deb package and update windows installer to 0.5.3
soon.
And then work on the program some more. A little patience please, I'm out of
town. Sorry.

Like I wrote above, I'm a Ubuntu newb, but if there are any error logs or
something
of that sort that I can send you, just let me know.

I'm having the exact same issue on Linux Mint 8. Is there a fix for this? I
ran the
package installer on textroom-0.5.4.deb and everything seems to have installed
correctly. But when I click on the Textroom launcher in the menu, nothing
happens.

Please take a look at 0.6.1 and report back. Thank you all.

I've switched to a new machine running Ubuntu 9.10 with an amd64 architecture,
so a
i386 version will no longer install for me. This means I can not give you a
report.
Sorry!

@joseph: Have you tried the Universal Installer or Source? It should work I
guess.
