Server Freezing #17

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Happens totally out of the blue.
2. After one day, or after 3 days, doesnt matter.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The server is not crashing, there is no crash report, but it LOCKS up and
everyone and everything is frozen, in fact it still shows players online,
doesnt even disconnect them, just frozen solid.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest SVN and your update.

Please provide any additional information below.
Something has to be seriously wrong, Im thinking in the core. We compiled
our own core, as we always do and the RunUO 382 update is where it started.
This is really getting old.

Is there a server(core folder) SVN you have I can compare ours to to be
sure that we have no issues there. Quite honestly,we hadnt had issues until
we started updating with the runuo svn and this is how we lost all our
players in the past.

Tired and Cranky....

Koluch

**If you want, Id be happy to send you OUR core for a compare. The last
core we used was ML53, Mals last update before the talisman issue, which we
removed. Thanks again.

You should use the core that I have provided to base your server off of. All
the ML
edits are in it. You can find it by going to the Project Home tab and to the
right
there is Project Owner. Click on my name. I till show what projects I own.
There
have been server core updates since ML53 update by MalGanis. His core files
don't
reflect the newer RunUO Core / script changes.

If you used my package you must use the core files that I have provided.

I would like to add to this issue, it's pretty serious;

I leave my server running 24/7 and I'm not usually home to tend to it so I
can't
have this sort of stuff happening but I'veh ad it freeze before, I think
everyone
here has, and when that happens no one can connect.

At that point I usually restart the shard, yesterday it froze causing people to
not
to be able to connect so when I get home today I shut it down manually and
re-boot
up the shard and to my surprise the Saves are GONE! :O it asks me to make a
Admin
Account! thank god for Automatic Save backups.... but I can only assume that
from
after ahwile of it being up frozen it caused this to happen I have no other
Idea how
my saves could of just disapeared like that.

Anyways, hopfully this can get fixed soon other than that GREAT JOB keep up the
good
work.

Tired and Grumpy, Evan..

I have not been able to reproduce this server lockup as you all describe. And
I know
for a fact that a few others that I have talked to have not either. I don't
know
what is different between all of your servers and ours. But something isn't
right
with your servers or something.

Unless something has been changed in the core that resolved your problems and
no one
has stated that the problem no longer exists.

I guess the issue has been resolved or wasn't an issue.
