UTF-8 support #239

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Terminal
2. Try to write a non-ascii character
3. Try to use a program with non-ascii output

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Wherever a non-ascii character like é, ó or ñ should be displayed nothing is
displayed instead. This replacement also affects input, so writing é will
write nothing instead. It's not a display only issue.
Under some applications (weechat) an ? is displayed instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0 (exported) on iPhone 3.1.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Support for UTF8 input and output is necessary for some users and
imprescindible for irc sessions, among other uses.

Sorry, which version of MobileTerminal? I made a lot of improvements in this
area for issue #106 so I think you must be talking about an older version, like
the one that Cydia is still using. The latest versions available for download
should work much better with UTF-8. Please re-open if you have more specific
problems.

Putting the build/version number on the About screen would help everyone answer
the "which version of MobileTerminal" question.
