Embedding is implemented but must be tested with GDM. I don't know how to
do this though. Anyone? :|

From

:

Is that what you mean by embedded? I recall another system for the upstream
GNOME stuff.

Yes that's exactly it! I'm going to try this for myself and write this down
somewhere... thanks!

Actually, what is demonstrated there does not embed the CellWriter window. It
simply
starts CellWriter when the greeter is displayed, as a separate window.

That's true but I think it's good enough to make CW usable for logins.

Oh, and actual embedding works fine with gnome-screensaver in keyboard-only
mode, bu
the window is too large when the cell widget is visible.

Using cell widget to enter passwords is a security Problem. It's easily
readable and
there is a history.

Could please elaborate on the security risk?

If I embed "cellwriter --xid --keyboard-only" into the screensaver, what
security
risks are there? Where does the history save?

If such a risk exist, then this should be fixed for anyone wanting to use this
method.

Is the risk embedding it in the screensaver, making it come up at login, or
both?

Thanks.

With --keyboard-only, I don't think any history is recorded. That only happens
when
using the actual recognizer.
