In early alpha, jME3 had a video playback system, but it was very unstable so
it was removed from core.
Video playback is quite an important for a game engine, and having a dedicated
project to tackle this feature would be great.
It seems the biggest obstacle of all is finding away around the
patent-encumbered formats that plagues video playback.
