thumbnail cache is not persistent #886

problem

i see material files is caching thumbnails but as soon as the app is closed, looks like the thumbnail cache is cleared and thumbnailing process is restarted from beginning (noticeable when opening folder with many videos).

suggestion

caching thumbnails into persistent folder like nautilus's /user/cache/thumbnails would be nice, with option to clear the cache from the setting.

I don't think they are cleared - they are cached in app data directory.

the video show the same thumbnailing process is restarted everytime material files is closed, also there is nothing inside material files cache folder.

device: redmi note 8 arrow os android 12.1 material files version: 1.5.2 (31) from f-droid

I also have this problem, with remote folder mounted as "content provider", through Roundsync app.
