Massive issues with OTG access to USB devices

I love this minimalist app and its design. However I have massive issues when using it with an external device (Garmin Oregon) via an OTG adapter. This works with other file managers, so the problem must be with this app:

• Copying files from the internal storage to the OTG device does not work correctly. A file is always created, but most of the time its size is 0 bytes (I verified by attaching the external device to my PC). I only succeeded to copy a file once, but then could never reproduce that success.

Less serious issues:

• When attaching an OTG device while MF is already open, it will not detect the new device. A force-close and restart of MF is needed before the OTG device is detected.
• When detaching an OTG device while MF displays a folder on it, some unhandled Java exception gets thrown.

Can confirm, auto-detection on connect / disconnect USB device would be great
