A keystroke or a service or an option in the menubar icon to create a new task 
who's name is the 
currently-selected or clipboard text from the current application.

Personally, I can't be arsed with remembering one more keyboard shortcut or 
setting
up up one more service. Why not simply solve that through Automator? I bet you 
could
design an action workflow?
